Prompt: #2: Why did you choose this to read? Give at least 3 reasons.
Pages Read: 1-496 (I just finished it)
Finally I finished Divergent, I am so glad it is done and I cant wait to tell you all more about it enjoy!
In the future there is a place where everyone is divided into factions, (unless you are faction less, which is somewhat like being homeless) these factions are Abnegation, Amity, Candor, Dauntless, and Erudite. To get into one of the factions you need to take a test to determine which one fits you most. One day, Beatrice (not beat rice), from Abnegation wen't to take her aptitude test. After her results were given she found out that she was divergent, so she could fit into multiple factions. Her decision would change her life forever.
When choosing day came Beatrice, choose Dauntless, the brave. After coming from Abnegation, Dauntless's life style would be very different from her old life. After tons of training and tests Beatrice has faced many fears of her own and others. One day she learns that her faction will go to war with her old faction where her family is. Will she have to fight or will she rebel? Read Divergent to learn what happens to Beatrice and her friends for your self.
Now that you have my summary I will tell you the secrets of why I chose this book. First, everyone read it (when I say everyone I mean just about everyone I know). So, I knew that I would have to read it in the long run so I did! Next, I knew that I had to read some science fiction books for my forty book challenge, so I thought Divergent would be a good one. Now don't think that I read Divergent by force because my last reason is because I have always wanted to get around to reading it, but I never had the time. Now after reading Divergent I am sure glad I did and I cant wait to read the next book in this trilogy, for now, you know why I chose Divergent and got to learn more about it!
