Prompt 1: If you could change what you’re reading, how would you change it?
Prompt 2: List at least two problems the characters faced?
This week I choose to read the book Peeled by Joan Bauer. Over all the book was good, but personally I would change a few things. First off, I would actually make the story a bit longer because I would love to read much more. The problem in the story was that Hildy Biddle, (the head reporter for her high school's newspaper, "The Core") Is trying to find a ground breaking story with all the facts to beat out the town's newspaper, "The Bee." The only problem is that the the talk of the town is about old man Ludlow's murderous gost, and it is quite hard to interview and quote a gost. Without many reliable sources it makes it almost impossible to beat out "The Bee." I would have liked if the author could have spent a little more time on that specific part of the story. So, I would change some things in Peeled, still, it is a good book with out any changes.
In this book, the main character Hildy Biddle faced a problems. One problem was that she had a very hard time finding the right facts for her schools newspaper "The Core." As the talk of the town was a gost finding good accurate information was a difficult task, epically when you have the responisibilty of the head reporter. Another problem was that the "The Core" was not the only newspaper in town. It is a hard battle between who will use the information known first. The other newspaper "The Bee" is the offical newspaper so they have a lot better marketing. In the end, the main character of Peeled definatlly faced some problems.
As you may know, Joan Bauer is my current favorite author, and I cant wait to read her newly realsed book Tell Me very soon! So far, I think that Peeled is one of my favorites, and I would gladly suggest it to anyone who likes to read realistic fiction books. I have never read a book like this before so it was a very interesting read. Well, I hope you enjoyed my blog post for this week, see you next time!
