"Sister" Blog Post For The Week Of 12/1/14 *MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*

Book: Sister
Author: Raina Telgemeier
Pages Read: 1-197
Prompt: Describe what you think is believable or unbelievable about what you are reading.

Sister is third book of the series Smile. Though I read Smile, I have not read the second book drama which I heard was really good. So far, it is really hard for me to believe that Sister is actually a memoir!
there is so many things that happened that I could not imagine going through! Sister also represents the saying you never always get exactly what you ask for. I learned a lot from this book and I would suggest it if you had read any of the books in the smile series.

First, there are a lot parts of Sister that are believable. One part is that she does not like her sister very much. This is believable because a lot of people do not like there siblings too. Another believable part of the story was that they had a lot of fish who died. That was exactly what happened to my sister and me because we had like ten fish who all died. So, I can conclude that some parts of the story are believable and likely to happen in real life.

Next, there is also a lot of unbelievable parts of the story. For example, Raina's sister got a pet snake Mango, then one day it tried to bite her sister, so her sister decided that she should return it. Then, on the way to back to the pet store the snake slithered out of the bag they were holding it in and went inside a chair in the car. Then, on a road trip a few months later they found the snake... alive! That to me is pretty much unbelievable, but I should believe it because, again, Sister is a memoir so it actually happened

In the end, I know that this story is both very believable and unbelievable, and the fact that Sister is a really good book!

  3. I am a little confused with your first paragraph. What makes it hard for you to believe that it is a memoir? Is it hard to follow since you did not read the 2nd book in the series? Remember to choose a topic sentence and to stick with that idea or theme throughout the paragraph. This will help you to stay focused.
