Blog Post For the Week of Jan. 26

Book: A Called It

Pages Read: 1-195 (FINISHED)

Prompt: List the physical characteristics of the main character
Prompt 2:  Evaluate whether the title fits the story.

This week I read and finished the book A Child Called It. This is another memoir I have read that had an amazing and shocking story. Then again, it is a memoir, so it has to be true. I learned yesterday that A Child Called It is part is a trilogy, I can't wait to read the next two sometime soon. Also, this is my 20th blog post this year! I can't believe that I am that far! I am hoping to improve my writing in the futere so if when I get to my 50th one it will be amazing.

In A Child Called It, the main character looks very different. Dave is abused and beaten so he has cuts bruises, and even a wound from being stabbed all over his body. His clothes are pretty much as same is his condition, they have holes and are ruined, his mother made him wear the same clothes and shoes for two years! That is shocking to me, almost unreal! The physical characterists do tell a lot about the character more, if they didn't include this information in the story I would be lost.

I definatlly believe that the title A Child Called It fits the story. First, I think it is accurate because in his house he was pretty much a nobody, a slave of some sorts. Also, his mom said right to his face that he was an "it." That word pretty much described the story, as it did naming it too. I had a wonderful time reading this book and can't wait to read the next book! See you next time!

  1. This was a great blog! I've been wanting to read that book too, but I haven't gotten the chance yet. It sounds like a depressing and heartbreaking story though... One thing I wanted to mention, was that the information about this being your 20th blog was a little off topic. I think that comment would fit in better at the beginning or maybe even at the end of the blog. Great job though!
