Poetry Reflection
In my own life poetry has a huge place. Now, I don't read poetry a lot, but sometimes I enjoy reading it. It makes me feel happy and gives a different feeling from a story or a novel. Sometimes I read poetry if I want to laugh or if I just want to feel good. Poetry is also fast and easy to read so if I just want to take five minutes to read something I can. I even sometimes write my own poetry, in and out of school, because it is fun and interesting to do. After this unit I wish I spent more time reading and writing poetry. I really enjoy it now more than I ever have. As you can clearly see, poetry has a big place in my life.
I think that poetry definatlly belongs to everyone. Its like freedom of speech and press nobody and tell us what not to read or write, because it is our right. If poetry is changing many young kid's life why keep it away from people when it could benifit them gravely. If anyone can write poetry everyone should be able to read poetry. Again, poetry is words and we belong to words. Taking words away from someone is unfair. Obviously, I definatlly think that poetry belongs to everyone.
The life experiences of a poet affect thier poetry by giving them inspiration to write new things and topics to intrest their audience. Say one time you went swimming and you wanted to write a poem about what the water was like, or even you could write a poem about the time you fell out of a tree and broke your arm. Just by major and small things happening to you, you can eaisly get inspired to write
a poem about that event. It also gives you a varity, your poem could be happy, sad, or even funny. Your situation teaches you that you can always write about you. It is also eaiser to write about something that you know really well, like yourself. In conclusion, I think that your life expirences affect your poetry and give your inspiration.
