Prompt: Are the characters realistic (do they seem like they could be read people)? Why
or why not?
Due to the fact that I was pretty much home sick with the flue the whole week, I was able to read at lot. One of the books I finished was Ten Miles Past Normal. After reading this book I decided it would be a great book for this weeks blog. While I was reading I realized that there were some things that made some of the characterists seen realistic.
First, the main Janie, when she was younger went to a farm on a field trip and really liked it. So, she asked her parents is they could move to a far, and they did. After a while she dicided she does not really wan't to live on a farm anymore. This seems realistic for many reasons, first, you may have hear the saying "Be careful for what you wish for" and clearly she forgot that saying. Another reason is a lot of schools go on field trips to farms, in fifth grade we went to a farm and I actually wanted to live on one after that, I still do. So, I think that Janie is very realistic.
Next, Janie's friend Monster (yes that's his REAL name) seems very un realisic to me. The first reason is probably the most obvious.... he name is Monster. I mean really, who would name thier kid monster!!!! That is crazy!!!! If I had that name I would beg to get it leagly changed! Imagine some parrent asked you "oh what is your childs name?" and you said "his name is Monster" you would probably get some strange looks. So, I can conclude that Monster is very unrealistic.
I hope you enjoyed my blog post for this week see you next time!

ReplyDeleteYou do a great job describing how Janie is realistic. However, you focus only on Monster's name when telling the reader that he is unrealistic. What else makes you think this? Please expand.
